| A YFL QUICK NOTE - Improve Your Journaling! A picture may be worth a thousand words, but journaling insures they're the right words! If you've ever seen a lonesome picture, then you should get the point here. Journalingtells the story that goes with the picture. It lets the viewer not only know the facts, but even emotions. Here are a few suggestions to improve yourscrapbook albumjournaling: - Never trust your memory - always include basic facts, such the names of people, where the picture was taken, and when. Including the relationship of the people in the picture is a nice touch, but be sure to include names. People looking at your picture fifty years from now will wonder whose aunt is "e;Aunt Kate"e;!
- Facts are the minimum to you want to journal. Consider also a bit of prose - journal something from your heart. What was special about the event? Is there a memorable story? Why did you take this particular picture? What do you want future generations to feel when they look at the picture?
- If your own prose is not coming easy, try using a poem or quote (or part of one) that expresses your feelings. Words of othersoften beautifully express our own feelings.
- Don't let poor handwriting stop you from journaling. You can do your journaling on a computer using one of the many available fonts. Simply print it out on acid free paper, then attach it to youscrapbook paper.
So don't let those pictures sit onscrapbook paperall by themselves. Journal! |
